Coheed and Cambria continue to compartmentalize, revealing that their latest musical work will serve as another installment of a musical statement already begun. The new disc, titled Vaxis II: A Window to the Awakened Mind, is, as the title suggests, the second part of a series of albums that will eventually include five chapters.

Fans have already been treated to music from the upcoming set, which now bears a May 27 release. “Rise, Naianasha (Cut the Cord)” and “Shoulders” both reached audiences in the latter part of 2021, setting the stage for the new album announcement. The ever-ambitious band are also making sure their die-hard fans get the full musical experience, also offering the chance to purchase a limited-edition deluxe box set for the album. The set includes an exclusive 96-page hardcover illustrated novel “A Window to the Waking Mind” which was developed by Claudio Sanchez and written by his wife Chondra Echert with stunningly realistic color illustrations by Chase Stone, a lamp exclusive Quintillan Speaker Containment Unit (approximately 8″ in diameter), a 3-panel fold-out poster of the enlarged album cover, and the A Window of the Waking Mind black card that will allow all cardholders access quickly to tickets and quick access to key Coheed and Cambria dates. .

All box sets will also come with a copy on CD and a download of Vaxis II: A Window to the Awakened Mind accompanied by an official certificate of authenticity. Additionally, fans who pre-order the limited-edition box set before January 23 will receive autographed copies and have their names included in the pages of the accompanying hardcover illustrated novel. To help whet your appetite for the upcoming offering, Coheed and Cambria will also hit the road again next month. Kicking off a run on February 16 in Pioneertown, Calif., Coheed and Cambria will release Sheer Mag for dates through March 19 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
