Elvis Star in talks to star in sequel

The wheels are in motion for “Dune: Part 2” and it looks like some familiar faces will be joining the cast.
According to reports, Austin Butler is one of the new faces that could appear in the sequel. The Elvis star is currently in negotiations to join the all-star cast which includes Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya and Josh Brolin, Deadline reported.
So far, Legendary has to comment on the matter. However, production on “Dune: Part 2” is expected to start in the fall, and the film is scheduled for release on October 20, 2023.
In the 1984 David Lynch film, it was Sting who took on the role of Feyd-Rautha. Rautha is a fan favorite of Frank Herbert’s novel and a character who will play a major role in the sequel.
In the novel, he is the youngest nephew and heir of Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, and is described as being as cruel, treacherous, and cunning as his uncle.
“Dune: Part One” had a $41 million opening weekend, beating expectations. The success paved the way for a sequel.
To date, “Dune” has grossed $400 million at the global box office to date, including $108 million domestically. It also recently racked up nine Oscar nominations, including Best Picture.
Besides Butler, Florence Pugh is also in talks to appear on “Dune: Part Two.”
Butler played a key role in Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’. He took on the role of being a member of the Manson family who meets his demise thanks to Brad Pitt.
Besides that, Butler has also starred in MTV’s fantasy series The Shannara Chronicles. Butler is replaced by WME, Anonymous Content and Sloane Offer, The Hollywood Reporter reported.
