Leonardo DiCaprio is another “eco-hypocrite” in a “long list”, attacks activist Grimes | Television and radio | Show biz & TV
Leonardo DiCaprio has been dubbed an ‘eco-hypocrite’ by Darren Grimes after he was pictured vacationing on a luxury superyacht in St Barts with his actress girlfriend Camila Morrone. DiCaprio has sparked an attack from fans and activist Mr. Grimes for his conflicting statements about the vital importance of tackling climate change. The GB News guest denounced the Hollywood star in an interview with Dan Wootton, the GB News host insisting that Mr DiCaprio shot himself in the foot with the claims, urging him to ‘shut up’, to focus on acting, and to ‘stop telling’ people how to live their lives if they want to avoid criticism next time around.
Mr DiCaprio’s words came back to haunt him and Mr Grimes accused the Californian of “procrastinating” on the yacht as he noticed how he tried to urge people to get involved in the fight against climate change.
Mr Grimes said: “It’s pretty amazing, isn’t it? These celebrities tell us that deep down you are nothing more than a human vector of the virus or an aggressor of the national environment.
“These so-called experts tell us, the celebrity United Nations Ambassador on Climate Change, and we are told that this kind of doomsday woe comes true if we don’t stop flying if we don’t stop eating food. meat and if we don’t stop driving gasoline or diesel cars and so on.
“So you would think that it wouldn’t be asking too much of these people to set an example themselves?”

“[So] the rest of us could potentially follow them if we choose to.
“But like you say, 315ft, a £ 110million superyacht that just lets out CO2 like you wouldn’t believe.
“And this is the man who said in his Oscar ceremony speech in 2016 that climate change is the most pressing threat our species faces and we must all work collectively and stop procrastinating.”
But Mr Grimes added: “To me it seemed like he was doing a lot of procrastination while on that patio over there!

“In the end, he just exposed himself to being yet another eco-hypocrite!”
DiCaprio, who recently appeared in Netflix’s satirical sci-fi film Don’t Look Up, did not warn until December of the potential risks the planet would face over the next decade.
He said: “A lot of these things are slowly becoming irreversible, and we have this very limited window of ten years to make that transition.
“If we don’t vote for leaders or support everything to do with climate mitigation, we’re going to have a lot very similar to these characters.
“We’re seeing the ramifications of what scientists have been telling us over the past few decades, and it’s happening almost on the exact year and date.
“It’s not that we don’t listen. We are simply not taking the necessary action.
