Manila, Philippines – Malacanang on Thursday allayed fears that the easing of testing and quarantine protocols for returning Filipinos and inbound foreign travelers would not yet be advised, as vaccine coverage in the country remained low.

Presidential spokesman Harry Roque said the relaxed protocols only apply to vaccinated travelers from 49 countries and territories on the government’s “green list”, which include North Korea, Yemen, Syria. , Madagascar, Sudan, Mali, Bhutan, the Falklands and the small islands of the South Pacific and the Caribbean. Roque said the green list will be updated by October 16.

All other countries and territories that are not on the green list are on the “yellow list” with the exception of Bermuda, the only place under the “red list”. —JEROME ANING
