SpectrumLeaf Europe’s premium CBD brands are officially on the UK’s Novel Foods List
London, July 18, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — SpectrumLeaf Europe’s Cannadips CBD sachets and Elevar Hemp CBD oral strips have recently been added to the UK’s New Foods list. While all of the CBD products on the list are all currently under “evidence pending” status, the list published by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) shows which products have a credible application with enough detail to prove their safety. Information required for review includes labeling, nutritional content, absorption, distribution, toxicological information and more.
“We are very pleased that Cannadips and Elevar Hemp products are now part of the official Novel Foods List in the UK, which is one of the world’s leading CBD markets. It is crucial for SpectrumLeaf to do the best we can. to keep our products as transparent as possible to help consumers feel comfortable. directly through the mucous membranes of the mouth for optimized efficacy. Any additional validation, such as inclusion on the Novel Foods List, will undoubtedly increase user confidence,” says Felix SundstromCEO of SpectrumLeaf Europe.
When CBD was declared a Novel Food in Europe in January 2019, the UK was the only country that required companies to submit an application for their CBD products in an effort to establish a safe and regulated CBD industry. Other CBD products that do not meet UK Novel Food requirements may need to be removed from shelves.
“While being listed does not mean that our products are fully authorized at this time, we hope it will help retailers and consumers feel more reassured and make informed judgments about their purchases,” Sundstrom continues.
