Storytime Features Teen Authors
Story Hour, a unique platform that connects cultures through timeless stories, with teenagers as author-narrators, was held at the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) in Hyderabad on Sunday.
A one-hour Ramayana audiobook which won an award from the UK Times was presented in three different languages, English, Hindi and Telugu at the event. One of the teenage authors of this audiobook, 16-year-old Ayur Pulle, interacted with the audience.
The story hour also featured a Ramayana puppet show which captivated the audience. Story Hour founder Neelima Penumarthy presented her signature puppet show which drew audiences from around the world.
The Hindi Ramayana audiobook was narrated by students from Uppal KV School and the Telugu audiobook was narrated by students from Devnar School for Blind Students.
Two teenage authors – Aarush Kunbhalem and Ayur Pulle – took part in a discussion on their audiobook – A Brief History of Indian Independence.
Speaking on the occasion, Neelima said, “I started this business because stories are important to a person because they develop their personality and I chose teenagers and old people as authors and writers. because there is a storyteller in all of them. These are the two different sections of society that play a major role as teenagers write impulsively with current scenarios and older people write with their experiences. that produce a good story.
Telangana IT Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan was also present.
