Virginia Festival of the Book plans hybrid program for 2022 | Books

The 28th annual Virginia Book Festival is slated to take place March 16-20, 2022 as a hybrid event.
Festival organizers are planning in-person events at venues in Charlottesville and Albemarle County, as well as online-only virtual events that will feature speakers attending from around the world. Many in-person events will be streamed live and recorded for on-demand viewing.
Virtual events provide accessibility for book lovers who cannot attend in person due to travel issues, time constraints, mobility needs or other obstacles. They also offer an alternative for participants who wish to be able to attend two events scheduled at the same time.
Headlining speakers for 2022 and the full festival lineup schedule will be announced in January.
The majority of in-person events and all virtual events will be free. COVID-19 security protocols are under development; they are based on evolving public health guidelines and will be announced soon.
The festival, a program of Virginia Humanities and the Virginia Center of the Book, features panel discussions, author and poet readings, children’s events, and other gatherings to unite readers and writers. To learn more about programming or sponsorship opportunities, visit VaBook.org.
